How Essential Oils are Used
Typically essential oils are diluted in a carrier, which is then applied directly to the skin. A variety of oils are available for use in this process. Virgin or fractionated coconut oil, grapeseed oil, hemp seed oil and jojoba oil are among the most useful and popular. In addition to these oils I also use an organic aloe based cream as a carrier. Sea salt is yet another method of using EO's when used in bath water, mostly for relaxation. For greatest effectiveness, I recommend oils be applied to inner arms covering the pulse points, the bottoms of the feet, behind the ears and sometimes on the heart.
For anyone who appreciates the aroma of EO's, using an inhaler is a perfect delivery system. The nose is a great vehicle for passing off their properties directly into the blood stream, which initiates an almost immediate response.
Another delivery system would be a diffuser, which will take water and the EO's to create a vapor that fills a room with all the benefits. People who want a more restful sleep sometimes diffuse lavender, which has a calming effect. I make a blend for myself when I need more focus or when I want to inspire more creativity.
I can create custom blends for many issues. For Example, colds, respiratory infections, asthma, arthritis, headaches and migraines, women's issues, depression, anxiety, ADD, ADHD, immune support, insomnia. Other more serious ailments such as Parkinson's Disease can be addressed after your consulation with a doctor.
There are many different blends for the relief of arthritis. Most work well. The formula I use here works very well and is a favorite. I include EO's that address inflammation in the muscles as well as the joints. I also include EO's that are analgesic, like ginger, clove bud, black pepper which also have anti-inflammatory properties.
Note: Roll-ons apply more effectively for areas such as the hips and shoulders where oils have more layers of tissue to penetrate.

Fibromyalgia is a painful chronic disease that affects the musculoskeletal system. Symptoms may vary with each individual. Most people suffer some degree of pain in the muscles or joints or both. Fatigue often accompanies the discomfort. There can be many other symptoms that your doctor can help diagnose. The remedy I offer here addresses the chronic pain in your joints and muscles.
Muscle Ache Cream
A blend for sore muscles. German Chamomile oil helps soothe body aches and pains while also relaxing the nervous system and everyday stressors. Helichrysum purposes to even out the emotions while relieving everyday stress and tension. Rosemary and Ginger improve circulation, while Ginger is also anti-inflammatory. Clove Bud is an analgesic and anti-inflammatory addressing mild pain due to overextended muscles and joints. Black Pepper, also an analgesic, rejuvenates overused muscles and joint tissue.

I have put together five essential oils to promote a restful night's sleep. They are Roman and German chamomile, Marjoram, Lavender and Sandalwood. Both chamomiles promote deep restful sleep along with Marjoram. Lavender and Sandalwood will relax to allow you to fall asleep. This can be used as an inhaler or used in an organic cream. If preferred, coconut oil or jojoba oil can be used.
As an alternative I also use a combination of Lavender, Cedarwood and Orange.

A blend of different oils can aid the asthma sufferer whether it be a mild condition or a more serious one.
Inhalers are a good vehicle for delivering relief to the lungs. Organic cream is an excellent alternative.
I blend Frankincense which is calming to the lungs, Cypress and Clary Sage, both being anti-spasmodic. They can help soothe asthma attacks. I sometimes add petitgrain for nervous asthma. There are other oils to consider as well.
If one has been a long time smoker I use Fragonia.

I travel very long distances by plane and have always found myself with jet lag, fatigue and feeling burned out. I came up with a blend that helps tremendously. I use Black Spruce which helps with swelling, Cypress which I use in my restless leg formula, Orange for it's uplifting qualities and Norway pine which is an adrenal gland tonic, to help stay healthy during times of stress, excessive work and transition. Norway Pine is traditionally noted to help increase circulation in the legs, helping to alleviate leg fatigue.

Grieving a Loss
The loss of a loved one can be devastating and can be difficult even with the support of family and friends. We also grieve the loss of a pet, a friendship, and a job. There are other reasons as well. I have put together a blend for use in a carrier oil that can make it a little easier along with the care of others. Neroli and Rock Rose are the key constituents
I use vetiver to help infuse mental and physical energy. It helps focus concentration, reduce mental distractions and sharpen awareness, while supporting natural emotions. I add Clary Sage, which is an inspiring oil. It relieves nervous anxiety, helps eliminate hyperactivity and hostility, clears emotional confusion, and indecision. For me it is about living in the moment. Cedarwood supports a balanced nervous system. Frankincense and Lavender are calming.

For those times when you are stressed out, just pull out this inhaler to get immediate relief. The formula that I use is Bergamot, Rose Geranium, and Sweet Orange. Bergamot is great for relieving anxiety, Geranium also calms feeling of anxiety but also relaxes the nerves and strengthens energy. Orange is a fresh aroma and has an uplifting quality.
Frankincense, Myrrh and Turmeric
I have created a salve for those times when you have small wounds, burns or other minor skin issues. Myrrh is one great essential oil for its healing properties. It has been known for reducing the effects of scarring. Turmeric is a warm and calming support for reducing pain and a great anti-inflammatory oil.
